Who or what is Cytara?
Cytara is one of the domain names owned by Fashionoffice.org. It was once registered for continuing the virtual model 'Cybra' which was given birth in 1997; it was the year that on occasion of a tragic incident, role models and the hunt after them (keyword paparazzi) was discussed heavily. 'Cybra' was derived from the word 'Cyber' and should give place to a model which is like an avatar a carrier - in this case of thoughts about lifestyle; a carrier which can't be used easily as 'model' (in the meaning of a fixed outer form) as it changes steadily it's visual self. Cybra was in motion and spoke; well, it wasn't interactive. The domain name Cybra was already registered for a .com domain, so the decision to re-name the female figure led to 'Cytara'. But on Cytara.com, the virtual model figure never appeared; like any other existence, even a virtual figure's living is a question of financial funding. The domain Cytara.com was used in the following years as space for data and some try-outs were made to breathe life into the domain. Now, Cytara.com is at the beginning again - not as virtual model but as written text, uploaded via Blogger.com. The .com domain Cytara points to cytara.blogspot.com where in future sights on society, online, culture will be published in the style such as it was done on Blogs by Fashionoffice during the last years.
The next blog posts will be about the currently running presidential election campaign which seems to become in Austria more a voting for political parties than the person of the president. The role of the Austrian President is in difference to the US President (only for example) all-party. The presidential election result hasn't (normally) any direct influence on the parliament or the government; it's not such an active political role. But even the Austrian President could use the power which is legally assigned to the position. And even when the head of the republic doesn't use all the power of the office, the president's lifestyle, the approach to culture will have influence on how our country will see itself and how Austria will be perceived by others. A great task! The next president will be the model for many for the next six years. Election day (in Austria) is the 4th December.
